The fruit is the hero. This Chardonnay balances concentration and complexity, whilst retaining the finesse that a higher natural acidity brings.

TWR Chardonnay 2019
Reviews
Wine Orbit (Sam Kim): 95/100. It's gorgeously styled and poised, showing nectarine, fig, nougat and hazelnut characters with a hint of oatmeal complexity. The palate displays splendid concentration and flowing mouthfeel, leading to a lengthy refined finish. Balance and harmony impeccable, texture and structure outstanding. At its best: 2022 to 2029.
Cameron Douglas MS: 93/100 (Excellent). Pure, fresh, youthful, lifted and ripe scents peaches and apples and apricot. Aromas of wood spices and mineral are intertwined with suggestions of new wood and vanilla, dry stones and silty soils. Complex and engaging. On the palate - very youthful, tense, ripe, fruity and dry. Flavours of citrus then stone fruit are followed by mineral and oak - not too intense yet distinctive and engaging. Medium+ acidity and oak, fine wood tannins and youthful grip. An expertly made wine with a long finish. Best kept in the cellar till 2022 then enjoy drinking through 2030+.
Bob Campbell, MW: 93/100. A Chardonnay with purity, power and delicacy. Citrus, grapefruit, white peach, wood-smoke and a touch of saline influence. Drink 2020-2025.
James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 93/100.This has an attractively ripe peach and lemon nose with baked-biscuit, spiced-honey and almond-paste notes. The palate is fleshy and concentrated with a core of lightly honey-drizzled pears and peaches. From biodynamically grown grapes.
Tasting Note
Lifted aromas of grapefruit, toasted almond, and white nectarine are complemented by smoky, savoury notes, white florals and hints of spice. These aromas follow on to complex, supple palate with real depth of flavour including grapefruit, fresh fig and white stone-fruit as well as savoury, mineral notes. Well integrated toasty oak and a lingering, spicy persistence complete this wine.
